Having lived in Heathfield for 50 years I have seen God’s faithfulness to us as a church through many changes.

 

I have always had a heart for mission, particularly where 'the need is greatest'. Another constant has been working with young people, and my wife Mary and I are still involved with the running of DofE with our faithful team. We do this with a Christian emphasis as an outreach to young people already in the church youth groups and to those without any church connection at all.

Ephesians reminds us that we are 'saved by grace not by works', but that we are saved to 'do good works that God has planned for us to do'. What a challenge! I see part of my role being to facilitate and encourage all within the fellowship to live this out and to 'spur one another on towards love and good deeds'.
